In 855.M41, Black Reach, and to a lesser extent, its
neighbouring planets Jede'ogh and Voldermach, were overcome by a surging Ork
WAAAGH! primarily composed of the Goff Clan under the control of the Greenskin
Warlord Zanzag.
WAAAGH! Zanzag was ended from intervention from the the
Ultramarines 2nd Company, under command of Captain Cato Sicarius. The campaign
was won by Sicarius being able to use weapons and tactics as a potent force
multiplier to counter the hordes of Orks.
Zanzag and his WAAAGH! managed to slain a sizable portion of
the planet's population. Black Reach's northern continent completely ruined by
the intensity of the fighting; After defeat of Zanzag, pockets of surviving
Greenskins still needed to be mopped-up.
It is now 956.M41. The planet's have been largely rebuilt. A
Evil Sun's Warboss going by the name 'Doktor' Ferotous Bluddietoof who is
fueled to constantly out perform and out 'ork' his great rival, Ghazghkull
Thraka. The self proclaimed 'Doktor' has a number of successful campaigns, most
notable was the Auctorian Sector War - a conflict which ultimately destroyed a
second found Space Marine Chapter, The Dawn of Silver.
Marneus Augustus Calgar is the current Chapter Master of the
Ultramarines. During the first Battle for Black Reach, Calgar was busy engaged
in the first Tyrannic War. He could only spare Captain Sicarius and the 2nd
Company to engage WAAAGH! Zanzag. This new WAAAGH! Dok Ferotous is a
considerably larger threat. Calgar has decided to personally lead the campaign.
